The idea is so simple, put the children and the elders together. There is nothing worse, in my opinion, than seeing one of our elders sitting along side a wall somewhere, bored out of their minds or having elders whose only malady is being old, sitting in a room full of seniors with Alzheimers or dementia, keeping them safe because there is no where else for them to go. And how bout young children sitting alone with a tablet or in front of the TV ?
Everyone wants to have a sense of purpose, no matter how old they are. Everyone wants to know that someone cares about them, no matter how old they are. Everyone deserves to feel love, no matter how old they are.
The idea for Caring for our Generations is not new. And when we build this and get this working it is not going to solve all the problems in elder and child care. It will just help with care in our part of the world. We need Intergenerational Care Centers all over the country. But we have to start somewhere. They deserve it.
